Anzac under the wires

Hello bloggers,

On Wednesday the teachers had a crazy idea to put strings all over the class. We had to crawl under them. It was like we were in trenches. First we had to grab our art book then crawl to our boxes, to grab a pencil, ruler and rubber. It would hurt because you would get carpet burn. After that we had the basic facts test they would play missiles exploding and guns firing and  bombs. Then I saw the speaker and it was on top of the table right next to me. It was real hard doing it because it was loud. But the test looked easier. After we read a book called Roly the Donkey.  Then we did this maths thing and it had all the Wars New Zealand has been involved in.  It was like showing the Boer war, WW1, WW2, Malaya War and Vietnam War. Then we had morning tea play. After we read Le Quesnoy, The Story of the town New Zealand Saved.

Then we did a letter and there was gunfire and exploding. Then we had a Picture Dictation and we had to draw what we thought it looked like. Next I went to the pool. After we read a book then we had to get into groups of 2 and put a blind fold on and hold onto an ice block stick and the people with out the blind fold  and had to lead them  to untie all the lines. Soon we took the blind fold off  cause it was taking to long, after we packed up and we got ready.

  1. Kia ora Dustine. Wow that sounds like a stressful way to do basic facts! Did you do better or worse than normal? Do you think you were able to imagine what it might have been like for soldiers by doing this?

  2. Hey Dustine. I have one question for you, why did you use a photo with me and Marcus in it? Maybe next time you could post on how much you got on your basic facts test. Thanks for sharing your learning with me. Have a great day or night and blog ya later!
